2024 Annual Appeal
Boy, have we been busy this year! Our members have been actively working thousands of volunteer hours, serving our community through our many ongoing projects including:
• Caring for Children Christmas Gift Project, provided wrapped gifts and books and Walmart Gift Cards for hundreds of local children to make their holiday brighter.
• Senior Gift Program celebrated International Senior Citizen Day in August at JABA and The Harbor with gifts and song and provided a donation to the Senior Home Food Delivery Program.
• Education Committee awarded three college scholarships to young women graduating from William Monroe High School, supplied scissors and crayons to incoming kindergarteners, supported Greene County Head Start by providing books and reading to the children, as well as gave awards to participants in the annual William Monroe Middle School History Night.
• Health & Well-Being Committee continues to focus on food insecurity by helping to stock our school snack lockers and providing funding for the William Monroe Middle School Backpack Program as well as making donations of feminine hygiene products to Feeding Greene and Greene County Schools and household cleaning supplies to GRACE. the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays of every month.
As you can imagine, these programs require funding to stay afloat. Our two primary fundraising events, the “Not Your Ordinary Yard Sale” and the “Helping Hands” Holiday Craft Bazaar, along with the few grants we receive, play a pivotal role in sustaining our programs. However, the majority of our financial support comes from individual community donors like you. Through budgeting and frugality, we at the Woman’s Club or Greene County stretch our resources as far as we can. But your ongoing support is essential – and without it, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish all that we do.
